Quick answer
For three days, use Center City as your base: combine arrival with a short historic-district route on day 1; choose one market and one museum on day 2; spend day 3 in one neighbourhood and return with departure margin. NPS, Liberty Bell and CityPASS retain separate access rules, and any 2026 event requires its own verification.
Center City reduces friction
Center City simplifies the plan: use Center City as a base for walkable blocks and connect with the airport through SEPTA based on current service. Keep the first afternoon free of bookings and finish the final day near your luggage. History is easier when you know what is free, what needs booking and what involves screening. Do not buy a pass until its inclusions match visits you already want.
Free, reserved or included in the pass
Independence Hall
Use NPS for booking, access and security. Leave margin before the assigned time and do not merge its rules with Liberty Bell.
Liberty Bell
Check current access separately. Being in the same district does not mean sharing admission or procedure.
CityPASS
Review current inclusions and count only attractions you would already choose. Do not link it automatically to NPS sites.
History, market and neighbourhood in three days
Day 1 路 Arrival and historic district
Airport Line or your chosen transfer, check-in, then Liberty Bell or an exterior walk. These are three priorities; replace the last with Independence Hall only when its booking leaves enough delay margin.
Day 2 路 Market and museum
Choose one market, one museum and a break in the same area. Do not add another interior if screening or the visit takes longer.
Day 3 路 Neighbourhood and departure
Choose one neighbourhood, one meal and the return to Center City. Collect luggage and protect departure margin as the third priority.

Paid pass worth comparing
Philadelphia CityPASS
Compare included attractions with your real route; do not confuse it with access to NPS-managed civic sites.

Urban packing for Philadelphia
