Prague in 3 days: the Castle, trams and currency without common mistakes

For three days, stay near a useful tram line and divide Prague by riverbank: Old Town, the Castle and Malá Strana, then one flexible final day. Before heading uphill, check the official Castle access and current transport status. Pay in Czech koruna and use DPP to confirm how your chosen ticket must be bought and activated.
First the hill, then the currency
To stop Prague becoming one continuous climb: choose a connected base outside the busiest visitor flow, with simple access to the centre and station. Keep arrival day on one riverbank and protect a departure margin for cobbles, luggage and possible diversions.
The Castle is the physical decision of this trip. Going up by public transport and walking down may preserve energy, but check the exact route that day with DPP and the official complex site.

Check same-day access with DPP and use the connection that reduces the climb. Do not depend on one line remembered in advance.
Cross the complex
Choose no more than two Castle interiors and keep time for breaks, screening and cobbles.
Come down
Descend towards Malá Strana if energy allows. Official public transport is the alternative when mobility or weather changes.

Day 1 · Old Town
Arrival, the square and a riverside walk. Avoid repeated crossings or a long timed visit.
Day 2 · Castle and Malá Strana
Reach the Castle, choose no more than two interiors, then descend towards Malá Strana with a break.
Day 3 · Flexible neighbourhood
Choose Josefov, a modern district or another walk; finish near your base and protect departure time.
